This annual report highlights how the Innovation and Value Initiative (IVI) advanced patient-centered, transparent value assessment during a pivotal year shaped by the COVID-19 pandemic. IVI strengthened its role as a convener and methods leader, notably through its inaugural Methods Summit (2020), PCORI-supported engagement activities, and a widely attended IVI-ISPOR COVID-19 webinar series. The report emphasizes progress in the Open-Source Value Project, including updates to disease-specific economic models and methodological innovation to better incorporate patient preferences, real-world data, and non-clinical outcomes. Key organizational milestones include formalizing IVI’s Principles for Value Assessment, launching a Patient Advisory Council to ensure authentic patient engagement, expanding partnerships with researchers and patient groups, and reinforcing IVI’s commitment to open, adaptable models that reflect diverse patient experiences and inform real-world healthcare decisions.
