Alexandria, VA – October 26, 2023 – The Innovation and Value Initiative (IVI), a non-profit research organization committed to advancing the science, practice, and use of health technology assessment (HTA) in healthcare, is pleased to announce that it is holding the third public comment period on the IVI-Major Depressive Disorder (IVI-MDD) Value Model from October 26 to December 15, 2023.
The IVI-MDD Value Model is an open-source simulation model. The model emphasizes patient-prioritized factors and outcomes and the broader societal impacts of MDD treatments. The public comment period will allow stakeholders to provide feedback on the draft model protocol, which outlines the technical specifications and data sources to guide the model development in the subsequent modeling phases.
Specifically, IVI is seeking feedback on the following:
- Data gaps in key model inputs and potential data sources and partners to address such gaps.
- Prioritization of data sources and technical approaches when multiple valid approaches exist.
- Potential use cases, particularly how the MDD model can help inform decisions in your organizations.
Comments can be submitted on letterhead via e-mail to public.comment@thevalueinitiative.org, and will be published on IVI’s website. IVI encouraces all stakeholders to participate in the public comment period and support the development of a model that is truly patient-centered and informative.
An information webinar will be held on Thursday, November 9, from 1:00pm – 2:30pm ET to provide background and answer question so the IVI-MDD Value Model. Please visit IVI’s website to learn more about the IVI-MDD Value Model and how to get involved.
