Alexandria, VA – March 2, 2023 – The Innovation and Value Initiative (IVI), a non-profit research organization committed to advancing the science, practice, and use of health technology assessment (HTA) in healthcare, is inviting eligible individuals and research teams to submit innovative ideas addressing questions to advance research to better define, measure, and reward innovations in the context of health technology assessment as part of their Valuing Innovation Project. 

The goal of the Call for Papers is to advance the dialogue, identify gaps in current approaches to HTA, and build consensus on practical methods to better measure and reward innovation. Submissions are encouraged from interested individuals or teams from for-profit and nonprofit institutions, worldwide, including young researchers, professionals, and individuals from underrepresented communities in research.

The top three papers will be awarded monetary prizes and invited to present at the 2023 IVI Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. The first prize winner will receive $25,000, second prize winner $15,000, and third prize winner $10,000.

The submission process launches with a first round of abstract reviews beginning March 1, 2023. To submit an entry to the Call for Papers, applicants should e-mail the required materials to research@thevalueinitiative.org by April 2, 2023, 11:59 PM PT. Select candidates will be invited to submit a full-length paper for a second round of evaluations by July 2023.
