The national dialogue on value in health care is bringing to the forefront the limitations of current value assessment methods and gaps in real world data to inform decision-making. IVI seeks to engage a wider group of stakeholders to inform priorities in methods research and to invest resources and expertise in improving value assessment. Toward this goal IVI convened a multi-stakeholder summit in February 2020 in Washington DC to explore gaps in value assessment methods and better define what is needed to inform health care decisions. The summit was partially funded through a Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute® (PCORI®) Eugene Washington Engagement Award (EAIN #00101-IVIF). This report contains the proceedings and recommendations from the summit, which are informing IVI’s research agenda.
